Dana 20 Guru- Need Help

Hello, finishing up my D-20 Rebuild. Question , opposite side of the case from the front output shaft yoke should there be gaskets or sealant between the shim pack cover and the shims and case. My books show no gasket and Tom's kit did not provide any gasket for that. I don't think you would want sealant between each shim as it would change the endplay as required. Please any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Jimmy.

No gaskets go there however I do apply a thin coat of gaskacinch or permatex non hardening sealer. I also apply the non hardening sealer to the bolt threads as they go into the oil cavity. Just a little insurance to a leak free case.
