Question for you all out there. How do you remove the heater control knobs. More specifically the defrost and heat knobs. Do the knobs actually come off the shafts or do you remove the secure nut behind the dash and pull the entire cable through the front of the dash?

Either remove the entire cable, or if you for some reason just want to remove the knobs, heat them up with a cigarette lighter or match and they will melt off. Some have a set screw, but the ones that are integrated with the cable are glued on and need to be melted off.
