Do I need to take the whole dash apart to remove the old dash speaker or can it come out just by removing the screws? I want to be sure I won't have to before I spend the money on a new speaker. Thanks to anyone who knows

Yes, 4 screws and it comes out, once you unplug it from the radio.

Lots of options for replacement speakers, some are a vast improvement over stock. I used one from Auto Zone of all places, I think it was 11.00 and was a dual cone type.

I installed the retro-sound dual cone and it sounds good. Lets face it, you can only do so much with one speaker.
The original speaker had four holes in the corners that were threaded to accept the screw that went through the dash. Your new speaker will have an oversized hole to accept the screw, so you will have to get a washer and nut for the back. I found a replacement screw to match the original at ACE and matched up the washer and nut.
