Door hinge options?

Best way to handle driver side DROOPING DOOR SYNDROME.

Rebuild existing hinges with bushings and pins?
Replace hinges? If so, which brand?
Use backing plates?

Tired of lifting and slamming the s%$# out of driver side doors on 76 and 77. Besides, I need an annoying winter project to anger me more. I remember same issue with my 73 back in 82..

Ideas?

Stock hinges are available everywhere (the vendors) anymore and the price has really come down.
Check the vendors,
But Duff has the fatter replacement pins with bushings.
If you rebuild with the Duff kit you will effectively have better hinges than new stock hinges.

Is it possible that shimming would solve the problem instead of replacing the hinges?????

From my experience, it was better to just buy new hinge assemblies versus doing the drilling / bushing / pin change procedure. I did the rework on one door and wasn't happy with the result and ended up buying new hinge assemblies... bolted them on, adjusted and never looked back.

I also added strips of sheet steel plates that covered the span between the top and bottom hinge to add extra strength to the door jamb behind the front fender (actually my body guy did, I just helped). In the end, the doors were very solid, no drooping and closed perfectly with no uneven gaps.
