I have them and during he painting process have put them on and off the truck maybe 3 times. TWICE the paint got scratched (the hinge stratching the door right as the door comes off) and had to repaint the panel (once before clearcloat and once before color sanding). It is possile to do it without scratching the door, but you have to be extrememly careful. I can pretty much say I will never take them off once we put them back on after the paint job is finished.

I don't think it is a problem with the hinges, it is just the way they come off and the pure weight of the doors.

I am sure others will disagree...

I don't know man, i think i would just cut the stock hinges like in the tech article on the left over there. Tha'ts waht i did in order to save money and it's great. As far as scratching the paint and what not....i have noticed the paint being scratched on my doors as well as the spot right there where the hinge pin is. This is probably due to the weight of the doors and the difficulty to line them up perfectly every time.

I made my hinges removable by drilling out the pins to 3/8". I am using 3/8 X 2.5" hitch pins. They are removable by pulling them out.
