Door Internal Differences

I've got a 73 Half Cab but I believe the doors are possibly 67 doors due to the opening handle style. I need to replace the door locks and latch rods ect. How do I know for sure the differences and exactly what year these doors are? I see on the JBG site that there are different parts from 67 to 68 and up? What is different and what interchanges?

Thanks

Look at your door striker is it round or oblong? 66/67 had round ones 68up oblong. this could point to either the body being a 67 also or someone has moved the striker location as 66/67 strikers are about 1 1/4" higher than 68 up strikers. Also look at the door latch sometimes people move the latch up or down the needed 1 1/4 but cutting a larger hole. It all depends on how your doors have been cobbled together but you may be stuck building custom lenght door rods. Nothing much directly interchanges between the years as far rods, inner handles, and latches go. but anything can be made to work with a few modifications.

Doors

That helps. I'm just trying to identify these doors before I buy and parts. I have no locking sustem at all. The key locks are there but that's it. My doors are very solid but I would like to have locks. Anybody else can chime in if they like.

Thanks

Doors

I looked and my door strikers are oblong and my latch on the door has been moved down to match. I didn't measure but it looks like about 1 1/4". So I guess the body is the 73 that I thought and the doors are what looks to be the 67 style door openers. I'm assuming the doors are 67 since the door opener handles are 67.
