Duff twin sticks with nv3550

Sorry, if this has already been discussed but I couldn’t find anything when I searched. I’d like to install a set of duff twin sticks on my T shift with an nv3550. After speaking with duff they said it wouldn’t fit, but I’m sure someone has figured out the linkage/mount. If anyone has pics or fabrication notes on how to adapt these I’d appreciate all the time saved with trial and error. Before anyone recommends it, I DO know there are several companies that make a nv3550 specific twin stick. But I already have a duff trans shifter and want to retain that style. Thanks-

just order it and make some mounting brackets. thats what i did. I have a M5OD trans and no one makes a kit for that so I ordered the duffs for the same reason you did(matching shifters) and fabbed my own mount.

pm me and we can discuss some options

I used Duff's twin sticks on mine. Just had to do a little bending in a vice to the area where the linkage attaches. The way the shifters mount to the trans annoyed me though, too much vibration and drive train noise came through the shift handles. I then just made my own mount that bolts under the body and now it is nice and quiet.

It is kind of hard to describe, but I made sort of a box out of thin metal that cradles the sticks. It mounts to the body in about the same location as the original T handle went. On the twin shift handles, I had to cut the mounting points a little where the linkage attaches to the handles. I them made a new linkage for each stick with I think it was 3/8 heim joints I got for about $15.00 off Ebay. It holds the shift handles real tight and like I said, no vibration noises coming up through the trans.

The shifter is mounted to the body? With a solid linkage to the transfer case?

Yes, the cradle the shifter is mounted to actually mounts to the body. It would seem that flex and body twist would have an effect on the linkage but it does not. Did a number of "flex tests" while fabricating the mount and the measurements remained constant. What very little flex there is, is "absorbed" through the double heims. I also have had no issues with it on the trail. Best of all no rattles or running gear noises transmitting through.

If you're putting a twin stick on anything questionable, call JB Fab.
If you're putting them onto normal stuff, you can call the vendors.
Either way you'll probably be getting a JB Fab shifter.
Fact is, JB Fab has done the homework and sells a great product.

Sounds like you spent some time making sure you eliminated the variables.
You must have made sure the ends links are as horizontally aligned as possible....Good job!
