Duraspark ignition module replacement

I converted my 66 to a Duraspark ignition several years ago using a junkyard module and harness. I suspect my module is failing. Is it worth going to NAPA or any specific parts store for a replacement? I'm assuming all of the replacements that are out there are made in the same Chinese sweatshop. Is that the case or are some really better than others? The prices range from about $25 up to $100+

The place of bronco
fine print will show some do not carry a lifetime warranty
I have a BWD that has a lifetime warranty it runs about $35
also make sure you match the color tabs. Most people will run a blue tab.

I tend to go to NAPA for most parts and especially electrics. They do have the same cheap stuff available that you can get from Advance, Auto Zone, O'reilly, etc. But, their better house brand stuff is all Echlin. They are a US based OEM manufacturer and really about the best you can find in the aftermarket. Money well spent in my opinion. 2nd best would be Standard Motor Products.

Rock Auto has several options, including Motorcraft and Standard, anywhere from $12 to $68.

What about the HEI module conversion? I was reading about it in one of the Bronco Driver rags.

I have read about this and the Mopar module. Probably good upgrades but in this case were talking about a straight six that almost never strays more than 75 Miles from home. In other words, I don't want to make this more complicated than it is.

I did go back and read that MOPAR conversion again. It does look pretty simple.

pick and pull and while you're at it get 3 or 4 modules then you'll have plenty of spares.

There's been a run on Duraspark modules at my pick n pull. The only one I found in the yard had the dielectric melted and running down the inner fender like honey.

The Motorcraft in my '77 has worked flawlessly for at least 25 yrs. If Rock Auto has them, go with it. Make sure it has the blue strain relief.

The wiring between the magnetic pickup and the module has to be in good shape. That includes the connection plugs. The pulse from the pickup is only a fraction of a volt so any resistance kills the spark. I chased a sporadic ignition problem for months till a got a Duraspark conversion wire harness from Ford Racing. Don't think they currently have them but Painless does.
