I Have A High Pinion Dana 44 In A Early Bronco For Sale. This Came Out Of A 78 0r 79 F150 Or Bronco And It Has Been Narrowed To Fit A Early Bronco It Has Disk Brakes And Steering Any Other Frontend Parts You May Need. This Has The Larger Axles That A Factory Eb Dana 44 It Was Narrowed By Cutting A Section Out Of The Center Of The Passanger Axle Tube And Welding Together Looks Like They Did A Good Job. Not Sure About Gear Raito. It Is In A Rolling Frame Been Setting Awhile Proably Needs Gone Thru. 500 Dollars Will Sell Rear End Or Other Parts You May Need 740-446-1327 Or 740-578-1078

Are you saying the center of the tube was cut, shortened, then butt welded back together? If so, that is the redneck way of shortening a full size axle and shows that it was not done by a competent shop.

As far as the way this axle was shortned, i don't see this causing any problems as long it was alligned properly. This axle was ran for a good while with 38s no problems other than broken axles(due to 38s and v8). I belive this was shortned this way to keep from having to cut and reweld axle wedges when moving inner c inward. I dought this was done by any shop more likely a individual. Stength wise i don't see it failing a good but weld is pretty strong if done right and if you don't trust it there is plenty of room for reinforcement around axle tube.
