Early Turn Signal Harness Plug - Remove Wires?

I have a new turn signal wiring harness ready to go in. I did this same project on my '76, which had the horseshoe-shaped plug, which was not hard to figure out how to remove the wires from.

Now I am doing for my '70, which has a different, more-square, plug and it is not obvious to me how to remove the wires. Please let me know what to do here.

On my Centech plug............I slipped the tip of a scratch awl in and depressed the little tab. A very small screwdriver would probably work too. Not sure that it applies to your case. Also look at WH or TBP websites. They often have PDF or video instructions.

There is a tool for removing them. Its handy to have one around. Anything flat and skinny enough to depress the tab will work though.

So, the process is basically the same as the later year plug?
