i just spent a few horrible hours doing what i thought would be an easy job. i installed a set of edelbrock elite series valve covers. i got them because that look good, and they were only $15 more than the chrome set. what i didn't realize is they are about 1.5" taller than the original, and the drivers side is a TIGHT fit. a pain in the ass to say the least.

they look good, but it was a lot of work for basicly something that is going to get covered in mud and grime anyway. plus i found out they scratch VERY easily.

anyone else had this experience / opinions??

Same here. Edelbrock Elite Series. Just got the body back on the chassis. Got 1/16th to 1/8th inch of clearance between the firewall and the drivers side valve cover. Kind of worried about engine torque and contacting the firewall. Going to grind the back edge off the valve cover to give me a bit more room. What was your solution to this?
