Hello

Looking for a little help here. It started with a leaky 2150 Motorcraft carb. In true Bronco fashion, rather than order the $25 rebuild kit I figured why the hell not upgrade to a 4 bbl and spend more money while I'm a it.

I'm looking at purchasing the Edelbrock Performer intake, performer 600 CFM carb, air filter combo from Summit - http://m.summitracing.com/parts/cmb-03-0126

I'm currently running the stock 302 and stock air filter with a 1" body lift. If the air filter in the kit is 2" will this fit under my hood? I also asked about using a drop base air cleaner but the guys at summit said that it's not an option with this carb because of the linkage.

So has anyone else tried this or know if this will work?

Thanks

Here's the current setup...and yes thats a shop towel under the carb :)

Also can anyone tell me what other part I will need to make the linkage work. I guess the Edelbrock carbs match up with GM and AMC linkage. Is Edelbrock part number 1485 what I'm looking for?

Here's a better pic of my linkage.

Thanks guys

If I recall correctly it was 1483 and you need a ball stud to take the throttle linkage rod.

Your present linkage will work great. You'll need the linkage ball from the Ford carb. The link on your car is adjustable for length. Heck, I even used the Bronco return springs.

Ok all finished...here's the before and after pics. Did the coil and wires too. It's super responsive now and definitely has more of a punch when I get on it.

Yep, it sure did. Now I'm wondering if I should return the 2" air cleaner and buy a 3" since that would fit. The current 2" says it will pull 800 CFM so it should be fine for the 600 CFM carb, but isn't bigger always better? Any opinions?
