I just finished my 1990 5.0 EFI conversion.
My fuel pump runs when I turn the key on but it doesn't shut off after 2 seconds like I expected.

It will start and run but I need to re-tune the chip from 30lb injectors to 24lb injectors. Its super rich right now.

Ron Francis Bronco EFI /mas air harness
24lb injectors
80mm throttle body
75mm mass air
Trick Flow 360hp twisted wedge top end kit
Sherman Tank w/ pump in tank

1- double checked the ground wire at the back of the intake.
2- switched to another A9P computer.
3- checked 12v ignition wire at firewall
4- checked keyed 12v
5- checked 12 battery connection

Is this normal and can I alter the wires to make it shut off after prime?

When the fuel pump doesn't shut off after the initial priming circuit, that's an indicator of a PCM issue.

Absolutely!

However, he did mention having a chip. If the chip has a corrupt tune or a tune for another vehicle in it then it will cause the same problem. If it does it with the chip removed it's time to look for bad capacitors in the PCM.

Look for fuzz or signs of leakage on the 3 capacitors circled in yellow.

Ill have get it re-programmed.
