Hey all,

I'm planning a trip from NJ to EJS 2016, and am looking for a transport to ship my rig.

Anyone else going?

Can anyone recommend a good transport from the NYC, NJ, Eastern PA area? (I'd be willing to drive ~2 hours to meet for pickup, if anyone is going from the Rausch area.)

Anyone been? Recommendations on places to stay, or not stay? I hear flying into Grand Junction is better than flying into Salt Lake City?

Appreciate any tips and suggestions.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, I don't think they let Bronco's in to the EJS. You must be talking about a different rig! I would love to get out to Moab, but it's such a long haul!

Once you've been it get MUCH shorter;D

EJS is a good time but I prefer to go when its not in session, town is SO busy I just don't find it very relaxing. I've been several times for business so we learned to run trails early and be out before the groups and to be back to town for dinner early, once 5pm rolls around its a 2 hour wait at McDonald's, let alone the better (and MUCH tastier) restaurants in town. I really like going 2 weeks on either side of the safari and before memorial day, once school is out its hot and way too busy till after Labor Day.

Drew, despite the name, I believe they let anything run EJS. In fact, there's a nice EB on the Red Rock 4-Wheelers site: http://www.rr4w.com/# But you got me. I am taking the JKUR this time.

Yeller - Thanks for the advice, but since it's my first time, I feel like I gotta experience it in full effect. If I get lucky enough to go more than once, I'll probably follow your advice and go at a different time.

Any over the road drivers on here want to go, from the NJ area?

X2... Our first trip to Moab in '03 was for EJS- just about turned me against Moab for the reasons listed. I don't want to drive 1800 miles one way to sit in lines for just about EVERYTHING. It has gotten more attendees in the last 10 plus years. IF you are a patient person, then go for it-a production to say the least and folks should see it at least once. The expo is also worth taking in, but as you would expect, heavy on the heep products.

As has been posted, we really enjoy going out there and have gone other times than EJS- two thumbs up. If you want a trail list, send me a pm with your rig mods and I will be happy to share our trail rides from several years.
:)

Drew, I know you were joking. Nothing wrong at all with a little ball busting! Always great to hear from you. It would be good to catch up and wheel the Broncos one of these days.

How is yours doing? Anything new? I wish I bought your axles when you went to tons. They were built STOUT, and a GREAT deal!!

Haven't done much to mine in a while. I want to make the jump to 37s. Hydro-assist is also still on the list. My two biggest issues remain that I need to quiet her down, and lessen the exhaust fumes. I think my water pump is leaking, so I may try a new cam setup when I fix that. Fuel injection would also be great. But for the same $$$, it might be better to swap in an Explorer drivetrain, and use gearing, like a doubler setup, to make up the torque I'm gonna lose. Have to see how things pan out. Gotta put some $$ into the house, and get a lot of house projects done to keep the Mrs. happy before I do anything big with the Bronco. I'm sure just about everyone here can relate to that!

kb6677 and sprdv1 - thanks for the recommendations. In a perfect World, I'd hit EJS, just to do it once, and then go with you guys in the EB in May.

Have a good one all!

My axles were pretty nice but would have needed some modifications for a street driven Bronco like yours! You wouldn't have liked the rear spool! 37's sound great. Hydro assist is real nice to have especially when crawling slow on the trails. You have some serious dreams for your rig!
