Ford 351W rear main seal squeal scraping noise FIXED MABBCO IS AWESOME

Cool video, but the background music is annoying. I have an odd squeal that can only hear right when I turn the motor off. Makes me wonder if this is why.

Blue71 had an engine making a weird wine at stops etc and when turning it off. Turned out that the PO used valve covers with no vents in them and it was the pressures in the motor building up and escaping at the rear main seal that was causing the noise. Learn something new everyday with these. Glad the OP sorted out his problem and thanks for the video. I will commit that one to memory just in case...

Mine was also making a very loud squeal when I turned it off. It almost sounded metallic. That's why I never thought it could be the main seal.
