gas tank strap

If I'm not mistaken the aux gas tank straps are the same lengths on the 66-75 versus 76 n 77have different lengths.......I put 75 straps on my 77 and need to shorten one of them

Can anyone confirm or deney these statements? And do you have an overall measurement for the shorter of the straps?

Both my '71 and '67 had 2 different lengths. Look at the rear mounting holes in the underbody. I believe one is mounted higher than the other. I didn't realize they were different until I got rid of both long ones and now have to lengthen the J-bolt to make it fit. I suppose I could order a new longer strap but what fun is that?

Both straps for my 77 had to be shortened, not sure what the length is.
