Ten years ago I parked the Bronco in the garage and there it sat. I've been working on it slowly the past four years. Reconditioned the fuel tank, ran new fuel lines, added disc brakes and larger master cylinder, rebuilt the transfer case, installed a new clutch, and finally replaced the early 80s carb with a simple YF.

So you ask, what's the big deal. Well... it ran for the first time today in ten years and everything worked but the vacuum wipers. So, just a few tweaks and it'll be ready for inspection and back on the road.

Thank you so much to everyone here that has answered my novice questions. Must have helped because everything worked. I just hope it lasts.

Thank you, thank you, thank you;D;D;D;D;D;D;D

This is my 68. The 71 is still a frame up in progress.

That's gotta be a good feeling after that long, congrats. I have a friend that was working on restoring a Mustang for 10 years, when it was all finished you couldn't slap the grin off his face if you tried.

I have had a similar experience.
It is downright exhilarating.
The hair stood up on the back of my neck the whole time I was driving it....
That was about 6 years ago.....to tell you the truth my hair still sticks up on the back of my neck every time I drive it.....

We are lucky automotive enthusiast. Not everybody can say they have the coolest 4x4 ever built.....

Here it is.

Off to work for a few days and then I'll get to mess with it again. Thinking about swapping over to electric wipers.
