Grill trim install question

I have my Bronco apart for paint and I am installing the OEM grill trim which it did not have before I thought it would fit nicely down into the recess and separate the flat area from curved. I was wrong. The trim is up into the curved area all the way around.

Does anyone have any close up pictures of this installed I could see? This has me baffled.

YES! Thank you very much! That is a very nice job. I am going to paint the inner area silver metallic and the rest of it dark pearl blue. I thought the trim should sit down in the recess where the flat white area turns 90 degrees. Looking at your photos the trim is almost like a window frame around the open area with the tape line under the trim. Did you just position it evenly and drill the holes? There is no body line to use as a guide.

Any source for the hardware? The OEM stuff is $75! I only paid $100 for the trim!

There was a thread a couple of years ago where someone found the hardware for much cheaper. I almost think it was a Dodge product. Do a search, I'll also see if I can find it.

I used nylon nuts and bolts and ground the heads of the bolts down square untill they had a slip fit in the back of the trim, worked out good no rust.

Popping this back to the top for a follow up. Did you guys paint the F-O-R-D letters body color or leave them the contrasting color you painted the grill inner area? This looks like taping, prepping, trimming, re-clearing nightmare but could be really cool.

I think this only applies to the early grills (grilles?)

Same thing for the FORD on the tailgate...

Bumpity bump. Anyone have examples of painting the grill letters a different color than the grill?
