Hey Gummi Bear how about a little more info on the home built kickdown linkage. I have never seen the stock piece, so I don't even know where to start. Thanks in advance.

I used my factory one as a model. I took a piece of 1/2 or 3/4" EMT and bent a comparable offset (I'll look at lunch for measurements and get back to you) Flatten out the ends with a hammer and drill holes for your bolts to pass through. I think you could build one for just a couple of bucks, and maybe a beer for your sparky friend. I have not run it for any significant amount of time, so I can't really attest for its durability. It will get you around for a bit while you look for a proper replacement however...

OK,

You will need a 12" at the top, and alternating bends at 6" so that it looks a bit like a stair case (30^ bends are good, I measured from the center of the bends, your sparky will know to use the diamond on his bender for this) You wil need to tweak it with your knee to get it to match around the tranny. This is a trial and error fitment keep in mind. Once you have one that looks close, install it. Set aside a little bit of time to do this, it is not really a 5 minute thing. I think I spent about 30 or 45 minutes when I did it initially. I've not run it on my truck long enough to know about it's durability, I just was looking for the pipe bending challenge when I did it initially (I believe with all my heart that it will work.) A stick of 1/2" EMT at Home Depot will set you back about $2, and you probably have the nuts and bolts needed laying around the garage.

Good luck.
