Hey folks,

Sorting out the plumbing and found an issue with the AC hose (is this the liquid line?) This hose touches the upper radiator hose, and also touches the distributor. There also isn’t an ‘insulator’ on it where it rests on the compressor and other components (like I have seen on other cars.
I was thinking, short of having a new hose made to my spec, ‘rotating’ the AC hose counter clockwise, away from the distributor, and rotating the upper coolant hose clockwise so they are not right next to each other. I would have just a hair too much upper coolant hose, and could trim it ½ inch at the radiator.

The same hose ends at an AC component (I don’t know what this is) but touches the battery. I don’t know if this could be rotated clockwise just a little or if I should have a new hose made with a bend in it so it clears with ease.
Thanks for your help!

Brett

I think maybe you have your condenser in reversed. The inputs, at least on my system, need to be on the drivers side. While I had a myriad of problems with my BC/Vintage system including the red fill tab facing up and hitting the hood (like yours is), I eventually had a custom line made and it came together. The red line should go from the compressor to the drivers side upper connection on the condenser. From the lower side of the condenser you run the line across the front to the drier on the passenger side, then to your fire wall. The other line runs from the compressor along the valve cover to the fire wall. I had to make a dog leg bend in the line from lower side condenser to fit around the core support. From there it runs back through the core support behind the battery and into the drier. It still looks messy to me right at the compressor connections, but I couldn't get it to work any other way without making all custom lines.

Ok this is the BC setup. Thought it would be plug and play :0

So more than likely flip the condenser and have at least one custom line made...maybe more if I want it to route nicely. Just want to know what I’m in for!

Maybe you won't have to have a custom line made. With my set-up the red plug hit the hood. I had a line made to move it down below the hump and rotated it 90 degrees just so it wouldn't hit. Yours might not hit. But good luck!
