new here, read the FAQ's so hopefully not repeating..
Having an inssue with my 75 stocker 302 with 210+ temp on long steep grades in 60 degree weather. never had a temp problem driving around before, but haven't had huge hills to climb either. everything that was listed in the FAQ's seems to be ok. thinking of adding a fan shroud. anyone have a suggestion of type? plastic, steel???

defintely need a fan shroud. Doesnt matter plastic or steel as long as you get one. Steel will probably take more abuse than a plastic one. its normal for the engine to build heat on grades. I would also give your cooling system a good flush as time goes but the radiator gets scal build up and cooling effeiceny is reduced.

I had a camper with a 1 ton van chassis that had the same problem. Flushed the system, replaced water pump and thermostat with no change. Finally put a bigger radiator in and it totally solved the problem.

x10. A fan shroud is NOT optional in a V8 EB unless you have a Taurus or eq. high-power electric fam slapped right on the radiator core.
