Holley 2300 2-Barrel Carb flooding

My Holley 2-barrell carb is just puking fuel down the throat of the carb, and it's flooding. I can get it to start only if I floor it to clear it out, but it won't idle.
I rebuilt the carb last year some time. Could it be the float? needle valve? What should I check first?
i'm ready to just buy a new one; i almost left my wife and myself stranded on a Sunday in the shtix.

remove needle and seat and check for debris.make sure float is not fouu of gas.to make it eaiser to start after reassembly,pour some gas into float bowl via bowl vent.remove sight plug on side of bowl and fill till gas is level with bottom of hole.with engine at idle,adjust float till fuel level is at bottom of sight glass hole.if you are not sure how to adj float dry,go online and google info.
