;D Hey Jeepster, whats up? I just ordered a hood scoop
off of a 1970 mach one mustang, has the 351 on the scoop and the turn signals built in the scoop. My friend had one on his 70 mustang and it was really cool, not as nice as a shaker but functional none the less.
my opinion only

I met someone up here in Mass. that had a 80's style Z28 scoop on his hood. Oddly enough, it didn't look bad.

WOuldn't they catch the rain bad?
???
[/quote]

one of the reasons you would install them backwards, the other reason would be better air flow.

You create a vacume in the engine compartment when driving sucking the air out. Or fresh air in through your radiator and from the bottom. I guess I don't see much difference between that and an open scoop to the front. You'll be pushing the warm air out the bottom that way I guess, and getting cool air into the carb?

When Waverous gets his maybe he can put one on forwards and one backwards then let us know which one works best. ;D Seems to me the air gets dammed up so bad against the windshield it may not create any vacuum. Maybe have to tape a bunch of strings along the hood and windshield to watch the air flow. I know when the bronco gets a fresh coating of rain X, the water drops kind of jump around not knowing which way to go. My wifes streamlined car with rain X sheds the water off the windshield very easily. There are also some instruments that measure very small differences in air pressure that would tell us more, but I don't have any.

The small scoops cover the air boxes they don't go into the engine comp.Would they still work better AB I have a set just not painted yet I'll be doing them this summer and don't know which way to put them on.

its an induction thing. air hits the windshild the is pushed forward into the scoops. I know it sounds fishy but its true. Jeepers have been doing it for years on thier air intakes. on a jeep the air intake is in the center of the cowl. one can install a scoop on them also. the flow of air is better with the opening towards the windshield
