I've got the heavy ProFlo hood from Wild Horses and don't want to use pins to hold it down. Has anyone used the stock hood latch hardware on this hood? Lemme know ... thanks

Great -- would love to see a pic or understand how you mounted the latch to the FG. I'm thinking if I use a steel backing plate I'll be ok, but not interested in having the hood come flying up in my face doing 70 mph!

I'll snap a few pics tonight - I didn't install the latch, the PO did. I'll see what I can determine from the mount.

coach I would think you would be quite ok with a backing plate but I would tap the holes in the plate so that the plate would really draw down tightly to the glass. Make sure all your edges on the metal plate are rounded so they don't cut into the glass over time.

Be careful! I've had my Proflow go through the windshield twice when I forgot to pin it. I know you will have a latch on it but believe me it hurts.

Thanks fellas -- good tips on the backing plate. I think I'm going to attach a small stainless "safety" cable just in case. I've had a steel hood ruin my day before, and I don't want a repeat performance of that show! I'll post some pics when I get it installed.
