I hear you... You look at all the work you're going to do on the body and you think... How can I put all that pretty work on top of that redish blackish frame?

I am right there with you. It is the right way to do it if you are this close. Good luck!

Now begins the cleaning! Do you plan to sandblast and paint enamel on everything? Or does the snowball get bigger by taking every part off and replace? Nickstrix is the man with experience on that part. I hope to pick his brain when I start cleaning my 77 frame. Might kill two birds with one stone in this thread too! I do recommend finding both your VIN stamps. You don't want to grind them or sandblast them off. You want to make sure the new paint doesn't hide it once you are finished. Just my 0.02$ worth.
