do not waste your money on an ididit inc. tilt steering column
the column they sell for an eb is originally designed for a gm vehicle
dosnt line up very good with the dash and the shift indicator is held on by a piece of double sided tape
the bronco i bought came with this column uninstalled and thats the only reason im using it
it will work but i strongly suggest the flaming river complete kit from tom's
the flaming river column shift indicator for an auto is internal just like the factory column
its a little more money for this column but well worth it

My brother heard the same thing about ididit. That is why he went with Flaming river. I believe it was more money but well worth it. This was not for a Bronco rather a 1960 Pontiac Catalina but I'm sure its the brand instead of the model.

Sorry for your experience...I had the exact opposite. I bought the Ididit tilt column from Bronco Hut. I believe they have them do some special mods to it but it fit perfectly and I suggest them to anyone looking to upgrade. I wonder if the PO of your truck bought the right model?

Mine is floor shift model...maybe that is the difference. I really liked the ability to get it powdercoated from the factory.

I think you are mistaken about the quality of the Ididit. I have been selling/using them for years and had very little trouble with them myself or from customers. I have also used it in my racer for the last 8 years. As far as the double sided tape, 3M says the O'Hara airport is put together with it. Most if not all body molding is held on with the stuff. Anyway Flaming River is good but a lot more money. Both are based on the GM column. I provide a new saddle with the columns I sell

To support what Chuck was saying, there aren't ANY columns that adapt to the Bronco perfectly other than another Bronco column... Aftermarket parts don't fit perfectly without spending some time to get them to fit, period. Yes they are GM based and use GM style plugs, but new columns come with the Ford adapter plug, so there's really no issue there either. I use a Flaming River, and while I'm very happy with it, it didn't fit perfect out of the box either, it takes some time to fit everything together well.

Perhaps the PO had a worn out column that was thrown in?

Was there a part number on the column that you can reference to determine if the column you have is for the EB? Just a thought....

ididit column

the PO of my bronco ordered the ididit A/T tilt column from graveyard
the install took a day of dumbfounded problem solving
i usually can figiure stuff out and get it done but it was just not a real put together kit to install for a farmer that mechanics on 200 hp JD tractors instead of vehicles
the flaming river kit just looks so much simpler
i like working on my bronco but i like crusing in it even more especially because of how much extra time i dont have
havnt driven the bronco since the install due to the need of a steering wheel adaptor the PO didnt order
im confident that it will work great but would go with flaming river column if i had to do again

Ditto, except I ordered mine powdercoated from JBG. Install was a breeze. I must confess however, Viperwolf's assistance was priceless when making the electrical connections to the stock wiring harness.;D

Two comments if I may - - -
The 78/79 ford half ton column is still the easiest in my opinion
I agree with Chuck, you get what you pay for.
