Hey guys,

well I just got back, 2 hours each way.. Went to pickup an engine and transmission out of a '97 explorer. I was told everything was in good shape, so I told him I would take the pair for $600. I get there, and after looking the engine over, I see the oil pan is busted open (he says the engine still turns just fine), and the fan blades are pushed back to where the fan won't rotate because the blades hit the pulleys. I talk him down to $500 on the pair. The transmission looks good. I get a ways down the highway, and stop to see how stuff is riding, and now I notice the alternator bracket is broken. The whole side where one part of the alternator bolts down... I am kinda disappointed, I figured getting a new pan wasn't too bad, but now to find a whole new front dress... makes me a little dissappointed.

Does anyone have another front dress they want to sell? Or does anyone know where I can find another cheap.... a blown motor would be a good donor... I hate to find another donor now, and wish I had waited on the entire setup... This particular one has 181,000 miles.... Oh well, I guess it will be easier to find a front dress than the whole works...
