I was reaming out a dana 30 knuckle for a steering upgrade today and went way too deep. Should I just find another knuckle or is there a good way to fix what I have done? can I drill it out to a thick wall tubing size and weld the tubing into place and then ream it over again to the correct size? Any good ways to fix this?
Thanks Bax

Do you weld them in or leave loose? I see they are split tapered, but it seems like they should be welded.

With the shoulder on them I think they will work fine not welded. my worry was how soft they might be.

We put them on a buddy's jeep that we put a dana 44 up front and a 9" rear. We had to flip the steering linkage so we used these. They get compressed and stay in place on their own and don't need welding.

I bought those a few weeks ago, have not put them in yet but when I do I am going to use lock tite, just in case they want to spin in the hole.
