As a precursor to the 'soopa doopah' 8th Annual LEBC Roundup at Katemcy Rocks (http://www.lonestar-ebc.com/Calendar/CalendarItem.asp?ItemId=123)

I'm putting on a basic skills clinic. How to 'read' a trail, what to do in some controlled situations, trail safety, basic recovery skills & other kinds of neat stuff like that.

My junk will be in a million and one pieces, so I'll be walking, taking pictures and mooching a ride between trails and obstacles.

Pack your junk, get your kitchen passes in order, and come on out.

Nobody will be made fun of. If you're new to trails, this is a good opportunity to develop some new skills.

Pack some sammiches, lots of cold drinks (no booze on the trail, that's a no-no at the park), your camera, a tank full of gas, a good attitude, and come on out!

I hope to get my noobie status upgraded to "a little better" status.

Chris - you've got a PM waiting on you

Alright, it's official. It's a calender item!

I'd like to add, if your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/son/daughter/whatever has any apprehension about going trail riding with you, this is the perfect venue to gently introduce them to trails.

There will be a short lecture (I hope to keep it under an hour), a Q&A session, then we hit the trails. Ask questions as you want, and if needed, we can do another Q&A at the end of the day to discuss what we've all learned.

Who is all coming to this from the club? Might join if I can.

Come on then. We could use your expertise.

[story that still makes me laugh]
Would you mind instructing the safety portion of the program? (fire suppression, and your rig: Presented by Walter) ;D [/story]

Will try to. Just got my oil pan back today from getting it welded up and beefed up for the arms. Alex talked about coming. Wonder if he is?

I'd love to but no can do. Little League season just started. Gotta take the boy to practice cause mama's takin' the girl to gymnastics at the same time. Man I'd love to go too. Going to pick up the Chupacabra with its new exhaust this afternoon! If it were on Sunday then I'd have a better chance. Anyone staying the night?

I haven't gotten a final count, likely only 2-3 right now.

It looks like the TX4WD guys are doing their Mega Run this weekend as well, so I'll do what I can to keep us off the trails that they're using.

There will be lots of folks to chat with, that's for sure. ;D

I'm out. Son has ball practice tomorrow and the other is in a track meet. Wife didn't like the idea of me letting her take care of both of them. Sorry guys tear up the trails for me.

My truck is not ready yet but I might be able to come up in a 1990 Full size Bronco. Don't know if this is very trail capable(4 inch lift, 33 inch tires) still has TTB front end so articulation is pathetic. I think this would be great since Kyle (the owner) is 16 and just starting out in 4 wheeling.
