This is cool. Wish they did this in other states. I was not aware they did this...Thanks.

We have something similar (actually cooler, imo) here in AZ. It's called the YOM (Year of Manufacture) program. AZ had stopped issuing annual plates by the time the Broncos came along, but thankfully they did one in '69, the year of my truck. I bought a '69 plate in nice condition from a guy at Goodguys a few weeks ago and got it all registered on Saturday.

So now I have a 1969 Arizona plate on my 1969 Bronco with a vintage license plate frame from the dealership where the truck was sold new (Crater Lake Motors in Medford, OR).

We have something similar in Michigan (register authentic historic plates). Actually on the Roadster (well will have once it is done) I also have the dealer chromed out "Friendly Ford" license plate holder on my Michigan 67 plate. Roadster was Originally sold by Friendly Ford in Fresno.

I was referencing the repo plates. That is cool for the people that want it.

We actually had a thread going on this earlier in the year.

While the plates are "tributes" to the old ones, they won't look exactly like them. The first press release sent out last year by the DMV showed the actual prototypes, while the later news release essentially depicted real yellow/black, black/yellow and blue/yellow configurations from years past.

I wish I'd saved the image (and I can't find it now), but picture a photocopy of an early plate, reflectorized. They look like a very good digital photo of a vintage plate. (Flat, and not stamped.) Interesting, but not really the same as the genuine article.
