Lift gate hinge question

Does anybody know which bolts are used to secure the liftgate hinge to the hard top? Unfortunately, the pictures I took don’t show the bolts, and I can’t find a listing for those parts. My liftgate parts bag doesn’t have eight large screws or bolts for me to guess what fits. It looks to me that the standard 5/16 inch bolt, pictured below, he is going to stick out too far, and not allow the lift gate to close. Help!

Countersunk Phillips head screws are used and clips with nuts attached slide over that metal plate for them to screw into...

This is what I recently removed from a hardtop I'm cleaning up.

1/4-20 x 3/4" long. Nuts have the built in washers that spin.

That’s certainly some variation! I didn’t have any U-clips in either hardware kit I have that weren’t too long, and they then stopped the waffle plate from centering on the hardtop holes. The ‘73 shop body manual describes nuts and lockwasher’s, but they would be a PITA to install. I found some low profile socket head 5/16” x 1” NC I had, so I shortened eight to 5/8”, and tack-welded 5/16” NC nuts to the waffle plates. I’ll see how that works tomorrow.

Ford must have switched at some point to the clips. My ‘77 manual shows nuts and washers but mine has clips like these.
