Doing a frame off restoration. I have a few questions and concerns. I have welded in all new metal now its time to work on the frame. How much does the tub weigh? Also what is the best way to support tub when removing. Also while transporting to body shop.

I think the body is around 350lbs. without doors and top. You will want to make supports for the door openings and from side to side in the bed area. The door openings are especially important as Broncos like to fold in half right there. I built a tub cart. There are a couple of different plans on here if you do a search. The wooden one is really easy to make. I ended up building a metal one as that's what I had laying around.

Tub isn't that heavy. 300 max depending on how much you've stripped out of it. Brace your doors so it doesn't taco on you. I ran braces from top of tub tails all the way to front core support and bolted into door hinges. Also braced from bulkhead bolt holes to dash. I built a 2x6 frame in my garage and lifted off body with ratchet straps. Put eye bolts in floor pan and rear body mount holes. Built a cart with HF casters to send off to media blast. Pm me for photos.

Good luck

Hank
