I keep plugging away and most major things have been fixed.... So far I have a new 347 fuel injected motor, 23 gallon fuel tank, rebuilt bulletproof C4/with trans cooler, new Milemarker hubs w/stainless steel internals all new front bearings and seals, HD Chromoly axel shafts w/dana u joints, 7º C bushing, Rear disc conversion w/parking brake, relocated shock brackets new Fox 2.0 shocks, front and rear diff skid plates, all new seals, chromoly front rear driveshafts w/long travel, new steering linkage, new heim joint front steering, new front bump stop extenders, steering box reinforcement kit, new rear bushings, new master cylinder, new front brake pads rotors calipers, power steering gear box, Twin sticks.....sure I am forgetting some other things but those are the main things....

I am putting to much money in this Bronco but its awesome and I love it it is my daily driver as of now ...I had visons of off roading it but probably buy a side by side utv for that now.....The Bronco will be a mall crawler but when done be as capable on road as off if so desired....

Which brings me to a couple questions now its almost time to address the body it has some rust issues I need to get fixed nothing horrible but its not perfect, kick panels, door posts need fixing...I thought about going with a fiberglass tub but not sure... I am leaning towards just fixing up the steel body...

I take it a fiberglass tub lessens the value but other then no rust is there any other value to a fiberglass tub?

I am stuck on wheels as well currently I have hummer H1 37x12.5.x16.5 tires and they suck for hwy driving....I am torn here keep the same wheels I have and go with Pitbull or Irok tires or got to a 17" wheel and grab some Nitto Trail Grapplers....or 35 inch pitbull tires....

I think I messed up I had the C4 built up but probably should have gotten one of the OD trasmission instead....I have the 4.10 gears, I thought about stepping up to 4.56 or 4.88 but seems pointless with only a C4 any thoughts..My speedo doesnt work but it does 80-90 with little effort on the hwy according to gps... the H1 tires are my limiting factor there...cruises nice at 65 though....and feels like has more left though not willing to test that at this time...handles well but loud no seals anywhere at the moment.....Rampage top came apart on me so put the beat up hardtop back on for now..

Things I have left ARB front and rear lockers, new tilt steering column, new tires 35", viair oba system 444C, new body bushings, bodywork for rust and new paint, BC Bronco soft top, Master Craft heated front seats, Vintage Air AC/heat, new dash guages, gears cant decide between 4.56 or 4.88 or keep the 4.10 any thoughts? The only thing not touched or new at this point is the dana 20 TC, only thing I have done to that is twin stick it, eventually want to replace it with a Atlas 4 but its working for now.... Thanks for the help...

Nice looking Bronco! It would help if we knew what part of the country you live by!

May have a hard time finding tires for the older 16.5 wheels.

A gear change would help greatly with those tires. 4.88 probably.

You parts list is pretty extensive for a "mall crawler". No off roading in this one?

I would like to put a 4R70W in and I was thinking if I do the 4.88 gears would be perfect for hwy driving with the OD.... I wasnt thinking though and had the C4 built so now seems a waste not to keep it for now...I was also thinking of stepping down to 35" tires for daily driving....So would it be better to keep the 4.10's for now since keep my RPMs lower on hwy, or would the 4.88 still be good without winding out the RPMs? I am keeping the H1 Wheels and run some 37" Iroks or Pitbulls for the winter or just to be different.....So have two sets of tires for whatever.....

I planned to make this a off road vehicle in the begining but the more I put into the Bronco and once get new paint I dont want to mess it up....I had jeeps prior to the bronco but I just enjoy driving the Bronco all the time now....once I get it insulated lay carpet over the linex I figure it will make a great driver.... It should everything is brand new trans, motor, drivetrain..it has the Wild horses 5.5" springs and leafs....I was looking at it this morning wondering if 35's would look to small vs 37's?

I had a goal when I set out to make the best off road vehicle I could afford I still am just cause but it wont be off road, now the goal is best off road vehicle I can afford that doesnt go offroad but is a daily driver now...but if I did go offroad by accident say would be awesome;D I am eyeing a rzr 1000 or artic wildcat 1000 for my off road fix...That and my wife said she would kill me if once I get the Bronco done I take it off road...I think though eventually in the future I can talk her into it but not for awhile...

Well, if you are gonna go with the 4R70W then your gonna be at:

4.88 (Axle Ratio) X 37 (Tire Size) X 75 (MPH) X .70 (Overdrive) = 2327 RPM
4.88 (Axle Ratio) X 35 (Tire Size) X 75 (MPH) X .70 (OVerdrive) = 2460 RPM

4.56 (Axle Ratio) X 37 (Tire Size) X 75 (MPH) X .70 (Overdrive) = 2174 RPM
4.56 (Axle Ratio) X 35 (Tire Size) X 75 (MPH) X .70 (Overdrive) = 2298 RPM

Those are the rough idea numbers! Numbers will vary based on actual tire size. Basically a measured 35" tire is usually either a bit smaller or possibly larger than 35". All depends on tire!

Thank you for that info in comparison if I put either of those two gears in and used my C4 trans for awhile what would be a rough idea on rpms at 75mph...thanks again for your help...

Well, you could multiply all of those by 1.3 and that would be a close guess! I think that the final ratio in the C4 is 1-1. Again, the ultimate deciding factor is gonna be the TRUE actual sizes of the tires. Hope that help little. Pretty sure that is correct but someone correct me if I am wrong! Good Luck!
