To sign up for this run, please visit RCPFA's WOUNDED EOD WARRIOR RUN.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR TODAY!

On Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-25, 2009, the Rock Crawlers for the Preservation of Future Access (RCPFA) will host a Wounded EOD Warrior Run.

The Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation is a non-profit organization that offers assistance to our Wounded EOD Warriors and their families in the form of financial relief. The resources provided by the Foundation are above and beyond the budgetary constraints of the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs. We believe that families are an integral part of the healing and the rehabilitation process and strive to keep them together during the most difficult of times. The Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation depends on fundraising opportunities and donations. Your generosity allows them to offer "compassionate solutions" to our Wounded EOD Warriors and their families.

Eric Stoneking (akxj) will be visiting Portsmouth Naval Hospital to see if any Wounded Warriors would like to escape from the daily grind of physical therapy. Everyone is strongly encouraged to do the same with their neighboring military hospitals.

PLEASE VISIT www.WOUNDEDEODWARRIOR.org TO DONATE AND LEARN MORE.

In addition to helping raise awareness for the Wounded EOD Warrior, we're also planning on "encouraging donations" by raffling off some prizes. (I don't know, something about our club, RCPFA, not being able to technically "raffle" off items. Whatever!)

If any vendors would like to donate any generic, non-vehicle specific, items (i.e., clothing, shocks, tabs, diff covers, discount coupons, etc.), it would be greatly appreciated. Simply shoot me a PM to make arrangements. Nuff said! (Is this appropriate? If not, delete the post.)

I'll donate a bunch of parts I have. Not sure what else I have to offer besides shuttle services. I'll donate the van rental I guess if it is needed.

Thanks Matt. I just heard back from Sherri Beck, the President of the Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation. She's out of town until Monday, but she's going to give me a call when she returns. I'm excited about this one!

Awesome.

Filly and I won't be able to make it to Crozet in May..darn it all..because I will be in Norway then. But..I have contacted the Wounded Warrior folks to see if we can get some of the vets to attend the MEB Roundup in June too.

Interesting. I'll have to read and see if this can apply to any of our WTs. We are just beginning Therapeutic horseback riding for some. I think off-roading may be too much for them.

Maybe a street cruise in a bronco would work? Much easier on wounded bodies than off-road but still fun. We have an organized street cruise planned during the East Coast Bronco Roundup in June.

Some of the guys we are taking care of range from PTSD to missing limbs/burns, facial reconstruction, etc. It's a day by day thing right now; very high profile.

Crap when I was injured the lead op said. gtf up and get ur guys in line...and my arm was hangin by 1 tendon...ahh the life of an Army Pathfinder. I did gtfu and took that pain/anger out on about 12 targets. 60 days and counting...

Back to topic...sounds fun and worthwhile to those that can attend.
