I have used just the 6AL and it works fine. I think the Off Road just is more insulated for rough use. PMed you.

I run a MSD 6AL along with there Pro Billet distributor, but I run mine inside the cab to keep it dry

Your going to get all kinds of opinions on the MSD, some love em, others hate them. I have had great luck with mine for a few years now

well I loved the one on my stang but I was wondering what the big deal was with the offroad box I don't think there is that much of a difference.

I think they look nice but I could not see any improvement, mileage or power. I did not dyno so it may have increased power a little but I could not feel it but I am sure it did not increase mileage. It failed after a few years, I still have it in a box someplace. After thinking about it I am not sure multiple sparks would do anything if your A/F mix was right. my .02
P.S. I had the 6AL box

I run full MSD in my Bronco and in my pick up. Compared to the stock system in my pick up ,it starts easier, and seems to rev quicker. I don't know about mileage claims. I've had no issues with either. If you do a search, it wasn't that long ago this came up, I believe it went on for a couple pages of bickering back and forth.

I had problems with my msd set up. I went threw 2 boxes, then I switched back to a duraspark with a gm h.e.i on it. The only thing I noticed with msd over my duraspark setup is quicker staring when the engine is hot.

Call the tech. dept. They fix them, charged me $15.00 per box + shipping. They both had internal fuses blown. Both 6AL boxes. Could'nt see buying another. Scott

I run the 6AL with a Duraspark. No issues and starts real nice. You can also get a pigtail harness from Summit for this setup

I had the 6 and a pro billet dist. on a SBC I put in a toyota 4x4, It worked great for years as a daily driver and off road. Unless you are racing and using a trans brake I would get the 6 not the 6AL, I beleive the only difference between them is the 6AL has a rev limit you can set.

i had the 6 on a86 bronc with 351w and duraspark dist. worked great for 5 yrs. the engine is now going in to my 66 and i will be using the same box. i noticed better starting, idling and slight increase in top end power. this 86 bronc was driven hard and i never had any issues with this ign.setup.
