I mentioned a couple weeks ago I had made a deal on another Bronco. Yesterday I went and picked it up and brought it home. I also bought a spare top so it came home on the back of the pickup, ala Beverly Hillbillies style.

So it's a plain 70 model, originally came off a ranch in West Texas, then ended up on this ranch in south Texas for the last 10 years or so.
He bought this as a restoration project but said he found one better so this one sat in the barn for the last 9 or 10 years. The tires are brand new 7.00x15 nylons, still have the nubs on them. The floors are rotten but the crossmembers are solid, the cowl is good along with the rear bed and fenders. I have both doors, he took one off to use the hinges on his other Bronco. They are both very good with no lower rust.

Hah I love looking through these Broncos when you get them home... the glove box had a bunch of trash, along with a receipt for a good used gas tank from Tom's Bronco parts in 2006. And 5 yes 5 sets of distributor points, 2 mystery skeleton keys, and a bunch of 240 rifle brass. It has a CB radio antenna cable securely stored wrapped around the steering column.
They scratched a reminder in the paint by the tank selector to know which was the front tank.
And of course it has the clothespins on the fuel line to combat vapor locking.

So I dropped a battery in it, poured some gas in the carb and the engine fired and idled like it had been running yesterday. None of the gauges worked so I need to verify it has oil pressure before I run it more.

Just another old bronco, 302 engine, 3 on the tree.

Nothing ambitious yet, get it running and street legal and figure out what i've got. I will not cut the rear fenders, that's like slapping a nun.
I really like the uncuts with a nice lift and tires. But big tires with factory axles and a 3 speed is scarey ground so I don't know...

Well... the theory is.... its the magnetism in the clothespin, or it aligns the molecules in the fuel, or it removes heat from the line and acts as a cheap heat exchanger, or it removes vibration that stirs up heat in the fuel line, or it works like a divining rod aka water witch...
I've heard them all over the years, the only theory I might believe and might have some science is the heat dissipation thing..
