just got these in the mail:

has anyone else here bought these yet?

I wasn't too happy with the mounting system. It seems weak. I think I will need to re-inforce it.

on the other hand, for under $500 shipped for both not having to screw around in the garage making yet another set of bumpers aint bad.

Yea, weld some 2x3 tube to the back of it , drill and tap it and slip them into the frame and bolt her up. Those tab mounts wont last long if you use them, and likely you will.

remove the existing tabs? and replace with 2x3? or just add 2x3?

I'd probably replace, I'd measure but I think that is the right size (2x3). The rear you will need to either box the ends of the frame or measure it out so the rear body mount bolts into the bumper. People have done that different ways.

I bought a set of those about a year and half ago or so. I didn't like the mounting system either. I added some 2x3 (or 2x4?) tube to fit inside the frame rails for added support. I seem to remember adding to the welds on the inside of the mounts also. Do those have a solid plate across the top (your pic shows 2 tabs on the bottom). I used both last year pulling and winching and they held up fine. Pretty thick stuff.

I'm still using the front bumper but I made a replacement for the rear that incorporates some rocker protection and sits up 2" higher for the 2" BL. I'll be making a matching front this winter.

2x4 slips right in. Assuming the horns aren't bent!

Those look like nice simple economical bumpers. Should look good painted and mounted.
