Well new here and defintely a noob when it comes to wheeling although mechanically and full background, not so much. I been wrenching on cars since i was 15 and plenty of wheeling trips since several months old...

So I would like to pick one of these bad boys up with the next week or so as I have always had a heart for them. Wish I would have found this site earlier. :(

Question... is there a specific year that I should stay away from or look for? I would prefer a manual although I guess an auto could be a possibility as both have their benefits and negatives. Was there any major difference in body style with the 1st gens? Or is this gonna come down to the right rig for the right price?

Depends on what ur gona do with it! 76 has disc but a chevy setup is better. Mine is 75 but not much left 75. Put 76 front end (which should have just done the chvy thing) 93 mustang motor for the efi, and it goes on and on and on. Stock powersteering is nice but wont hold up to big tires with heavy foot. There for psc+bcb steering in mine! I would say if ur gona serious wheel doesnt matter find something cheap with as little rust as posible. If ur gona drive street alot and mild wheel 76 or 77. Not sure when ps came in maybe 74 ps discbrakes was 76.
