New Oil Pan Gasket Replacement Necessary?

Hi everyone,

I’m continuing to get my 1975 Bronco up and running and spotted a considerable leak coming from the crank seal (oil splashing down the front, can feel it coming from behind the harmonic balancer).

Last week I dropped the oil pan and resealed it with the one piece blue gasket thinking it might be the oil pan. The new gasket seemed to be holding leaks at bay well which lead me to see it was the crank seal.

Right now, I got back into the timing cover and replaced the crank seal (saw a big chunk was missing from when I took out the harmonic balancer) and was careful to seat the new one well

My question is do I need to still replace the front section of the oil pan gasket even though the gasket is brand new? Did sealing it and then unsealing it somehow ruin the integrity of the gasket, or is it safe to keep it as it is when I put the timing cover back on?

I suppose I could have left it on, but didn't want to damage the timing cover when I took the old one out (it was stuck on pretty good). Maybe I was a little over-cautious though and created more of a headache this way. I reused the oil pan gasket and will put it back together and fire it up. Crossing my fingers for no more leaks...
