Hey guys,

We've listened to customer requests and we've got some updates on the doors that we're pretty excited about. We've updated the latch plate to be adjustable for both early and late strikers with just the position of the rubber bumper stopper. Also, switched over from a fabbed male hinge to a billet machined steel one. We're now making it in two versions, one for our beefy Duff lift-off hinges and one for the Drake Polished Stainless Hinges with the stock size pin that are readily available from all the parts houses. The first production run of those ones should be done next week. Monster Mike has one of the first run of those on the Monster Bronco.

I've been posting pics to FB & IG but realized I hadn't gotten any over here.

Suzy

Those look great. I like that they can be used with either hinge.

I have a set of your trail doors with removable hinges. They are awesome! I can open the trail door and sit on it and it doesn't deflect at all!

I would like to add the removable hinge to my full doors as well. Do you now or are y'all considering selling just the door portion of the removable hinge set?

It's actually quite odd you don't have the door side hinges already. Our hinge kit is sold complete, did you buy your bronco with trail doors already installed?

It's not something we offer but let me get monster mike on this and see what's possible.

Monster Mike is welding up the hinges to our trail doors tomorrow for the stainless lift off hinges that Scott Drake sells. finally we can get these back orders filled!

Phew! We got trail doors flying out of here. I think we struck a nerve... People want a trail door that looks good and is easy to remove. Now the guys who already bought those pricey polished stainless hinges can buy a set of trail doors that need zero modifications.

A few features I really like about these doors. The top bar sits at a perfect level to rest your arm and to lean out and survey the trail in front of you. The door conforms tightly around the bottom edge which helps keep stuff in like when you accidentally drop your phone! I like how simple the design is yet it's edgy and compliments the lines of the bronco. I like the latch and handle. It's simple and effective and you can't hear it vibrate or rattle while driving. Last but not least I love the new billet steel hinges. They are machined with a pressed in hinge pin and look very professional.

There are less expensive doors on the market that work great however they Will require you to bolt them on every time. If your like me and go back and forth btwn stock and trail doors you know what a pain it is realigning your doors and hinges. EZ lift off hinges are the only way to go IMO.

Also don't forget these doors come with a cover option. Its a laser cut piece that has a rolled edge that hooks over the top of the door. I run these covers in the cold wet season. The covers don't come with mounting hardware so you can customize the covers to your liking.

heres a couple pics. let me know if you need more.

the door skins are a bit modified, i cut out square holes so you can see the JD logo on the trail doors. i also cut them at the top so they match the radius of the top bar where it bends and intersects with the diagonal cross bar.

here you can see how easy it is to lean out and survey whats going on down and around the front/side of the vehicle.

here is a close up of the small hinges that accommodate the stainless polished version.

in this pic you see a large duff hinge that is raw and machined out of billet steel with a pressed in pin. it has been freshly welded onto the doors

heres a pic of the striker stop that accommodates all 11 years of early broncos by simply moving the rubber bump stop so it centers when pressing against the striker. 66-67 strikers are a little higher up the B pillar then 68-77 are.

I'd love to adapt a bear claw latch to these doors but the 68-77 striker is too big. One day I'll have time to look into it.

Ya I can do that, reason we haven't is it takes away the ability to swap back to hard doors. The 66-67 latch in the door won't adapt to the 68-77

Look Mike Your a smart guy. All I am saying is, Make a mount that you can install either a 66/67 striker post to and make that mount so it will interchange with the 68 and up posts. One mount with interchangeable posts. How cool is that. problem solved. man this R and D stuff is fun.
