There are a couple of things that make you want more info. The paint question is a good one. Why do the floor boards look like floor mats where left in when it got painted? Why is there over spray on the door gaskets? Why does the fire wall look like it was painted with a brush? Why is the drivers side rear light not a 66? I don't think we are trying to tear down this truck by asking questions. I think when a rig like this shows up, with the claims that it is making, it is our duty and obligation to question it to verify it is authentic. Every show I have ever seen with regards to barn finds that have been sitting for 30, 40, 100 years, the main thing they look for is proof that it is what they say or think it is. This rig does look like the real deal, but there are a few things that ask for a reasonable explanation....

if it only has that low of mileage on it, why was the tunnel cut up to get access to the trans shifter? that is usually for easy removal. looks like the floors were brushed over with that yellow paint. some ones "rust stop" method possibly? wouldn't be surprised if it was house paint, I've seen that before too many times.

looks like a solid & very complete truck. it would be an easy one to build. wonder what it will sell for.

Sorry, but the frame and axles have more than surface rust on them. The tires look to be original, so maybe the mileage may be be correct. Whatever this sells for, it will look like a great deal 1 year from now!!! Mark my words.

repaint on a 2-year old vehicle is very strange, even in '68 paint wasn't cheap, looks pretty complete though, if it was sitting on something with enough moisture trapped under it that would explain scale on axles

Truck appears to have had some damage on drives side rear ... most likely involved the tail light and thus the wrong lense along with trim ring and bumper missing.

I think the whole truck was painted on an insurance claim (rear end hit is always the fault of the car doing the hitting), and maybe the owner wouldn't allow a blended pait job ... nobody will ever know for sure.

JSUK ... restoring this truck would be THE VERY WORST thing anybody could ever do. I understand it would be easy ... but easy won't cut it 50 years from now. NEVER EVER restore a truck like this ...

It would only be bad to restore if it was all original. This one needs to be restored. Somebody already screwed it up by repainting it back in 1968.
If it would have had a nice paint job back then, then I would say don't restore, but that crappy paint job needs to go away.

I personally have not seen the truck in person so I won't comment on the "crappy paint" based on pictures ... has it got overspray in places it should not ... no doubt ... but when you paint the outside then the engine bay looks bad ... then when you spray it ... you need to detail the underside and then the original bench seat looks dated ... and then another survivor bites the dust !!!

Please ... I was invloved in the Mustang hobby in the early years ... I hope the Bronco's don't fall victim to the same "restoration obsession" as the Mustangs did !!!

It is a cliche that everbody has heard ... but "they can only be original once" ... an early respray doesn't ruin that truck for me from an originality perspective.

Look at the wire hanging from the firewall that held the "buck tag" and the shadow on the cowl where the tag hung and prevented paint from making it to the cowl ... that is too cool !!!

That truck will be worth twice whatever it will be worth if restored, 50 years from now ... watch what I'm telling you !!!

The rust and the scale on the frame and axels doesn't look to bad does it? I have seen a whole lot worse on parts trucks that I have had.

Definitely seems like an unlikely story.

I agree the "original" factor is gone. Paint job is terrible and if the rust that has set in on the frame and axles isn't put in check it is going to creep into the body in short time.

Definitely a good basis for a stocker build though.

looks good but Pennsylvania plates and a plow truck makes it really hard to understand?

Its nice to see one that has not been modified to the "Point of no return.". Like Nick said, its a complete truck. Two of the most over used terms in the car hobby: for many years its been, " restored"(or many variations). And now the most over used term: BARN FIND.
