• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

  • The Classifieds forum is a place to buy and sell, not an open forum for people to give their opinions on Bronco values. Unless the seller specifically asks for help on pricing, please don't critique quality or asking price. If you're not interested then move on.

I have a new (not rebuilt) M5OD-R2 (M5R2) for sale. A person bought my project and I no longer need this. I am asking what I paid for it, which is $1500.

The M5R2 had several variants, the early/middle/late models had different shifter locations (front/middle/rear). The newest model (rearmost shifter) is best for swaps to avoid dash interference and/or dogleg shifters. They continued to make improvements through the years as well.

While the rear shifters came out in 1996, Ford changed to the "modular" engines in 1997, and the new engines had a different bell pattern (so not compatible with the Windsor pattern 302).

This NEW trans is from 1996, so it is Windsor (302) compatible with the rearmost shifter location. It also comes with the Dorman freeze plugs, to fix the leaky rubber plug issue these trannies had. I also have the shifter and spud shaft.

Does this transmission bolt direct to the 302 and the stock transfer case? Or do I need adapters? Where does the shifter come out?
