NV3550 Flush???

I ordered an NV3550 from a salvage yard on car-part.com and when It arrived I was horrified to find that they had removed the shifter and shipped it with an open case! I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to flush the case to remove any contaminants that may be in there? I want to do this on the cheap if possible.

Thanks,

Parts washer, just make sure the solvent is clean when you start.
Leave the fill and drain plugs in for the first fill and flush (fill it right to the top of the shift tower)
Run another full case of solvent through it, then pull the drain plug.
You can run a coulpe litres of either ATF or regular synthetic through the case FOR A COUPLE MILES ONLY, just to clean all the solvent out after it is installed, then drain and refill with the proper Mopar synth NV3550 fluid.

Would I have to be worried about the solvent damaging the seals of the tranny?

Thanks for the help,

There shouldn't be any problem with the seals if you use a petroleum based type of solvent.
