I have been watching a couple of pans on ebay for the 351w. They both say they only fit the 351w pickup block. Am I missing something here? I thought the pickup motor and the car was the same. They just take different pans to miss the crossmember right? There is not any difference in the block?

The difference is where the dipstick enters the pan: trucks and vans enter through the block and cars enter through the side of the pan........for the most part. The truck pan has a small indentation for the dipstick to go through the block and not hit the lip of the pan versus the car style which has the tube thread into the pan.

I ran a van pan for awhile, but your diff will dent it if you bottom out. Summit had the best price, think it was 130. or so.
