Just picked up a 66 and a 74 . have been having a hard time trying to decode the vin tag, seems like all the information is basic and does not point out all the codes..

'66 Shift Boot

Looks like coveted 66 factory shift boot? It has been tucked under an F100 floor mat for who knows how long.

Colorado. So far most of the surprises have been good. However it looks like floor pan seams are toast after living underneath a tar / membrane for a few decades.

Great find.........even greater find is Palm trees in Colorado! :) First I've seen that "membrane" on the floor......like you said, at least the shifter boot is there!!

You don't really want to keep that old shifter boot in there, do you? I hear they're loaded with unobtanium, be very careful!

Looks like a great find! Congrats!

More Pics

Has had an exterior repay at some point. Spent some time with it this weekend. Rockers have had some work, and appear to be the only non original parts I've found.

Very nice '66.

Is the air cleaner original? I think it had a black oil bath filter back in the day. That one, though it's missing some parts seems to leave room for a dual master cylinder without needing additional parts.

What is the pipe fitting on the back right?

It's 736126. I could be wrong, but didn't they start with at 2000?

JC - that was actually a question I was going to ask. I know the oil bath was the standard, but this one has an old 170 cubic inches sticker on it. I was not sure if it's aftermarket or an option.

What pipe fitting are you asking about? I must be missing it.

I think he's talking about this on the back above the taillight.

Thanks unknown. I knew I was just missing it.

I assumed that was part of a swing away tire carrier. Can anyone confirm?
