So I have all the parts for the Che*y conversion minus banjo bolts and brake hoses. I don't need stainless, and I'd like to avoid having to order from a vendor due to timing issues. I have a NAPA, Autozone, Oreilly's, and Advanced Auto Parts local. Anyone know of a definite part number for either? I've searched, and most of the tech links either don't have tthem, or have Checker's part numbers.

Just ask for 74-76 ch#vy 4wd truck brake lines and corresponding banjo bolt. Im sure other years will work to since they used the same calipers for at least a dozen or more years.

What about spindle bolts? Anyone know what size I need? Got the spindles used, so no hardware.

I used 3/8"X2" fine thread, grade 8 or better. Don't go cheap on these bolts. Napa will usually have Dorman brand but the kind you get at Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, etc... are usually Hillman brand which could(and probably are)be made in China. I've twisted the heads off these on other things just trying to torque them to spec.

Will the 74 Blazer/1/2 ton lines fit factory fittings, or will I need an adapter of sorts for the non-caliper end?

Don't the banjo bolts have fluid holes? Be careful, might want to look and be sure

This may not be directly related infact I know it's not but I remember sometime back in the 80's a really cool parts counter man at a Big A autoparts store in Jacksonville Florida showed me that I could use 70's Jeep Wagoneer hoses from the frame to axle. They were a bit longer than stock which was just what I needed. Ofcourse they were darn cheap compared to any of the aftermarket extended length brake hoses available then or now. So how did they work? I replaced them this year with stainless steel braided hose from WH just for looks, those old rubber hoses were still ok.

Everywhere I've gone are having a hard time figuring out what the hose/banjo fittings I need are. Does anyone have a part number? Or does anyone know length/fitting sizes? At this point, I'm having a hard time finding the hoses even from a vendor. I was trying to go cheaper, since I don't really need braided. I found the banjo bolts at BC, but the hoses they have listed all appear to be stock 76-77.

Banjo bolt you need is 7/16 x20 1 1/4" long NAPA part # UP 82698. Again ch#vy truck, blazer, ect 74 up is what your looking for. Your parts guys suck if they cannot find this stuff its just to common. Have them get out a brake line and a caliper for a 76 ch#vy 4wd then ask them how it connects together.
But really a quick search of orielly's and napa will turn up results just search banjo bolt. I just dont see how none of these parts stores cannot come up with such a common part.

I was able to pick up some 2" grade 8's from Ace Hardware. Only place in the city I could find them. They didn't have 1 1/2's. Did the 2"'s torque without modification? If WH give's 1.5's, and you used 2's, seems like a decently large gap. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to nut the back.

Nut back?? There is a communication problem here for sure. A banjo brake line bolt can't be replaced with a common bolt and certainly can't be nutted up in any way. I think were all on a different page here.

LOL. At least one of us is! The post I quoted is talking about spindle bolts, not banjo.

Then what is this post if your not talking about banjo bolts?? Your first post said spindle bolts.

Look at post #3. The question in Post 1 was basically answered in post 2. I then asked about spindle bolts in post 3.

Also, i was finally able to get the right lines and Banjo bolts from Napa (thanks Bronconaz!) Picked up the spindle bolts at Ace, so it's time to tear her down.
