I had to go down to the Cape yesterday to look at a boat, so happened to have my camera with me.

This has been ther for as long as I can remember, at least 25 years. I don't know what year it is, or was, but you can see it was a bronco. When the body rotted out, they just ripped the body off, and made a custom body. It has a 170, 3 speed, it aint pretty, but runs like a champ.

They use it to move boats around the yard, and I have seen it move 35 foot boats.

Very interesting and even more creative! It's definitely a Bronco chassis though.

Ya no rear springs, the rear axle is welded solid to the frame with two big peices of steel

I saw something like that years ago being used as a tug at an airport. It still had the frontend with no windshield, front seats, and door inserts. The rear door posts had cut off at a height just above the tops of the tires and it had a flatbed on the back. The rear axle was moved forward and welded solid with the frame cut off just behind the wheels. It had a PTO driving a GPU generator. Very professional looking conversion. I think it was a roadster.

My question is what first made you realize that it used to be a Bronco? I can see many Bronco que's now that you pointed it out but wouldn't have recognized it had I not known first.

Wow, you are truly a Bronco Guru to have recognized that thing as a Bronco from a distance. What axles does it have?

Dude. That thing is cool! How much do you wanna bet it has U13 stamped on the frame? %) '66 bumpers. Are those '66 front facing shock mounts? Hmmm.

With the big pintle and welded on rear axle it's probably just used to haul big ol' boats and such around the yard. Amazing it has lasted so long. Probably only uses low gear. I bet the operator wishes it still had a hard top in the winter time... Very neat, good eye.

Yeah, I would have to say that is the strangest looking Bronco I have ever seen. Good eye!! I seriously doubt that I would have ever caught that.

I used to work there as a kid in the summer, when the origional owner still owned the place. I had a 69 bronco at the time, so I have known about it for at least 30 years.

I am 47:eek: and it was like that when I was 17;D
