So I am in a quagmire and I don't know how to get out of it!

I bought a truck (non-Bronco) a while back (May) from TN and the owner sent a clean TN title with the sale. He had owned it for about 10 years and it was registered and titled in his name. I got the truck delivered in May and it needed some work so I didn't rush off to the DMV until this week and now I learn that the VIN matches in all the right places EXCEPT there is an extra "0" in the title VIN. And because of that, the State of GA won't give me a GA title

I know the standard answer is to call him, ask him to go to the TN DMV and get it corrected, but he hasn't responded to my texts or call as of yet (really old guy who I actually had to work with his son a lot of the deal because he didn't know how to answer texts). I don't think he is a shady character in any way, maybe just not willing to get in line at the DMV (it is always a pleasant experience you know). If he isn't willing to help, what can I do? Are there services that can be hired to clear things like this up (I think I have read that here on the Board at some time)?

Help!

I struggled for a long time at a local DMV regarding an "I" mis typed as a "1" who knows how long ago....
I kept going to the same lady who would not assist me at all (I was only 17).
I had a couple of ideas...didn't know about the frame vin then....
I went to my grandfather asking him what to do.
He said, "The first thing I would do is just go to a different DMV"...."that's what we did when we had issues like this"

I said, "What?...are you sure Grandpa?"

So I went to the other side of town. Went in and explained that my title has an "I" where it is actually a "1" on my vin plate (glove box warranty tag).

The lady said, "Thank you I might not have caught that", she then changed it, gave me my tag and registration sticker as well as ordering me a corrected title. Took all of 10 minutes.
I had spent days dealing with the other old Hag DMV idiot on the other side of town.

Lesson learned,
Grandpa's are always right...

In PA I can download a form from Penndot, have an inspection mechanic or officer verify the correct vin number and send it in.
I'll let you know how it goes as soon as i find the title i misplaced.
