Original PTO questions

I just picked up a complete PTO setup for a Dana 20.

I've known about these for years, but always saw just individual pieces for say. It was cool to find a complete one locally.

Am I correct in assuming that these were a dealer option and not a factory option?

I've seen a few pics over the years, and it seems like there were several different bumpers used. Is there such a thing as a stock or standard PTO bumper? The one I got with the setup I bought looks more home made than anything original.

I've always assumed that the originals looked like the ones in the pic below (Drew's dad's), but mine is much larger and has a push bar built into it.

Just looking for any info I can find on the originality of my new purchase

I think you might be confusing the PTO with the vehicle-specific stuff that it drives. Dana/Spicer has been manufacturing PTO boxes for their transmissions and transfer cases, as well as for many others, for over 60 years.

The winch is a Koenig.

Thanks for the link. The bumper I got is definitely not like the one shown in the instructions or in the picture I posted above.

Depends on what you consider to be a good deal I guess. I paid $400 for the winch, drive shafts, shifter, bumper, and gear portion that bolts to the Dana 20. No cable for the winch, and if you look at the exploded diagram in the link above, I'm missing a bracket or two. The shifter I got has obviously been home welded together, so I'm not sure how original it is.

Your correct. They were dealer options. Thats why there are a few different versions out there. Hard to say whats correct but if it looks old then id say its about as correct as you can get.
