Parking Sensors - Anyone Ever Install?

I am thinking about putting some parking sensors on the front and rear bumpers and just wanted to see if anyone has had any luck installing these on their builds.

If so, does anyone have recommendations on the brand of sensor?

It was either this or put a reverse camera in the rear bumper which I have not seen a lot of either. Any pics or advice would be appreciated!

I’ve seen some rear cameras that work well. Cool one that is in the license plate holder, sends image via blue tooth, (no wires), to your phone, so get a note pad that has blue tooth so you have a big screen. There’s a lot of these type of devices just coming out in the last few years, prices seem to be going downwards too. The camera takes some button batteries. Good luck.

I think I wouldn't use parking sensors because of their limited use. In my surveillance vehicle for work I have a rear camera that is linked to a front camera that is attached to the rearview mirror. It attaches over the original mirror and functions like a regular mirror unless you bring the menu up to view videos... OR... it is designed to hardwire the rear camera into the reverse light if you want it to function as a backup camera, then when you put it in reverse, half the mirror becomes a TV screen.

The advantages of the camera is it records in a 3 min loop as you drive (overwrites itself unless you have it manually recording) so if there is a crash, or in my case I use it so I am not holding a camera and driving, but I bet on a trail vehicle they would be great for off-road movies.

You can also set it for crash sensor and things like that so it starts up and records if some one messes with or hits your parked vehicle.

Takes 1080p front and 720p rear and stores on a removable SD card.
I have a fairly clean installation and nobody knows its there, but if you did a custom install it would be useful on and offroad.

I put a set on my '97 dually, and they worked great. I have 2 more sets I'm going to put on a '93 Bronco I'm building. The link to the ones I got are in this caption:

I've tried several cheapo wireless cameras, and they all suck. If I put one on anything, it'll probably be a wired system, like the$e:

But I've seen a few wired systems in friends' vehicles that I'm considering - they go to big stereo screens (which wouldn't really work in an eB) or RV mirrors with built-in monitors, similar to these:

This is tempting, but I have no personal experience with it, and it looks too cheap to actually work:

I do not remember the brand but several years ago I put a camera and monitor in my Dad's Sport Trac. Camera and monitor sold separately but from same vendor / maker. I powered it with the back up lights - when they came on it all powered up. It lights up quick and works great years later. The monitor came with a bracket I double stick taped to the A pillar and the camera I screwed to the bottom of the bumper in the center. Unless he drags the camera over something it should be fine!

Just read the reviews!
